Abstract:
To provide a rational method for producing a p-quinone useful as a medicinal intermediate in high yield.
This method for producing a p-quinone is to oxidize a phenol expressed by general formula (I) (R1 to R4 are the same or different and express each H, a lower alkyl, a lower alkenyl, an aralkyl or an aryl) with molecular oxygen in the presence of an oxidation catalyst and a dehydrating agent.
