To provide a dough dividing machine capable of uniformizing the throughput of the dough in an extrusion each time and also a method for controlling the machine.
This machine for dividing the dough is capable of performing a suction step of retreating a piston 2 and a movable wall 3 and sucking the dough from a hopper 1 into a cylinder 4 and an intercepting step of advancing the movable wall 3 and intercepting the space between the hopper 1 and the cylinder 4 respectively once and then repetitively carrying out an extruding step of advancing the piston 2 until the driving force of the piston 2 reaches the prescribed upper limit value with a first driving means 7 and extruding the dough sucked into the cylinder 4 into a dividing chamber 5b of a pocket 5 located at a communicating position and a dividing step of changing over the pocket 5 to an intercepting position, dividing and taking out the dough extruded into the dividing chamber 5b plural times. Thereby, the upper limit value of the driving force of the piston 2 is controlled so as to be gradually lowered in the extruding step corresponding to the suction step and the intercepting step respectively once every time the frequency of the extruding step is increased.
