To provide machine scanning type ultrasonic diagnostic equipment in which the speed of an oscillator can be controlled without providing a speed detector at an ultrasonic probe.
A position detector 16 detects the present position of the oscillator 12 rocked by a motor 14. A speed signal generation circuit 20 generates a positional clock consisting of a pulse generated every fixed positional interval based on a present position signal outputted by the position detector 16, and converts the frequency of this positional clock to a voltage value for generating a present speed signal. A positional signal comparing part 26 generates a first compensation signal based on comparison between a target positional signal and the present positional signal. A speed signal comparing part 28 generates a second compensation signal based on comparison between a target speed signal and the present speed. A driving signal generation part 30 generates the driving signal of the motor 14 based on a driving control signal obtained by applying weighting and adding to the first compensation signal and the second compensation signal.
