Abstract:

To provide a high-Cr steel for machine structural use excellent in carburization, capable of suppressing occurrence of carburization inhibition, when high-temperature gas carburizing a steel containing a large amount of Cr.SOLUTION: In a steel for machine structural use excellent in carburization, under a high-temperature gas carburized state at 950°C or higher, a component characteristic in a scale area where O in a base material surface of the steel is contained as much as 5 mass% or more satisfies (Cr+3Mn)/Fe<2.2, and when observing the scale area in the cross sectional direction of the scale, the area ratio of a spinel type crystal structure is 20% or less, and at least 1.60-5.00 mass% Cr and Mn are contained as the base material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
