To improve reliability of a process when extruding a workpiece part.
A machine tool 1 configured to perform blanking of a workpiece 4 includes: a blanking tool having a blanking punch 9 and a blanking die 11; drive units 13 and 14 configured to relatively move the blanking punch and the blanking die along a process shaft line 15 in order to separate a workpiece part 4b from the workpiece; and a pressing part 24 having a stripper 25 movable along the process shaft line, the stripper being configured to come into contact with an upper surface 4a of the workpiece at the time of blanking the workpiece. Additionally, the machine tool 1 includes: a detection device 26 configured to detect a reference position PR of the pressing part along the process shaft line on which the stripper is in contact with the upper surface of the workpiece; and a control device 19 configured to perform positioning with the stripper arranged in a position at predetermined interval d/2 away from the reference position in order to extrude the separated workpiece part.
