Abstract:

To provide a machine tool capable of reducing influences of vibrations in processing and selecting a proper anti-vibration material by providing a good anti-vibration structure corresponding to a local change in vibration characteristic and bending load characteristic of a moving slide.

In this machine tool (vertical lathe 1), a slide (Z-axial slide 3) supported by a holding member (X-axial slide 25), moved by a feeding device (Z-axial drive mechanism 27), and mounted to a processing tool (lathe cutting tool 43) are relatively moved to a workpiece, so as to process a workpiece by the processing tool 43. A closed space is formed inside the slide 3, and is filled with an anti-vibration material 6. The closed space is preferably blocked into a plurality of closed chambers 51-53 which are narrow near a tip end 38 of the slide 3 and get wider as they are away from the tip end 38, by rib walls 54-57 arranged in parallel to each other in a direction crossing with the axial line direction (Z-axial direction), in which the slide 3 is moved.
