To provide a machine tool capable of suppressing the generation of abnormal vibration at machining in a workpiece held by a chuck of a main spindle without utilizing a tailstock, a chuck of a sub spindle, and a tool post.
The machine tool 1 includes: the main spindle 4 including the first chuck 10; the sub spindle 5 including the second chuck 12; the tool post 6 including a tool 30; and a spindle feeding mechanism 20 moving the sub spindle 5 relatively to the main spindle 4. The sub spindle 5 is disposed oppositely to the main spindle 4, and includes a rotation center 16 projecting toward the main spindle 4 in a position coming off from the rotation center line L2 thereof. When machining the workpiece W by the tool 30, the core of the workpiece W held by the first chuck 10 is pressed by the rotation center 16 of the sub spindle 5.
