Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool that enables working to be efficiently applied to the front and back sides of a workpiece in a short period of time because time required for transfer of the workpiece between first and second main spindles and a workpiece carrying mechanism is short.SOLUTION: In a machine tool M, first and second main spindles 2a and 2b are movable in an axial direction (X-axis direction) orthogonal to rotating axes of rotation of them. First and second cutter holders 3a and 3b are movable in an axial direction (Z-axis direction) parallel to axes of rotation of the first and second main spindles 2a and 2b. Thus, in the machine tool M, a stroke S required for transfer of a workpiece W in a workpiece carrying mechanism 4 can be designed to be short.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
