Abstract:
To provide a machine tool capable of detecting an outer peripheral position of a workpiece in short time.SOLUTION: A machine tool 10 includes: a bed 11; a traverse table 20 which is provided on an upper surface of the bed and is movable along a guide rail 21; a turning table 30 which is provided on the upper surface of the traverse table and is rotatable around a turning axis line vertical to the upper surface; a spindle head 13 and a tail stock 14 which are provided on the upper surface of the turning table, support each of both ends of a workpiece W, and rotate the workpiece around a rotation axis line passing through both of support points; and a position detection device 50 having two detection probes 51 and 52 which are provided so as to be movable toward the outer periphery of the workpiece and can each detect positions of two intersection points of a straight line passing through a center axis of the workpiece on the same outer peripheral circle of the workpiece.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
