Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the above machine tool fitted with a turret, which is equipped with high speed rotatability, presents lesser noise and vibration, and excels in the aspect of maintenance and management.
CONSTITUTION: A turrent head 9 of a machine tool is fitted with a plurality of spindle holders 12 at a certain spacing in the head rotating direction, and each of these holders 12 is fitted with a spindle 13 rotatably on which a rotary tool 14 is mounted at one end, while at the other end of the spindle 13, a rotor 15 is coaxially mounted as constituting a motor for driving the spindle. In a position confronting this other end of spindle 13 in the indexing position C, a stator 16 is provided which constitutes the spindle driving motor together with the mentioned rotor 15 and which can reciprocate on the axis of the spindle 13, which is thus rotated directly by the motor composed of these stator 16 and rotor 15 for applicable spindle 13 which is stopped in the indexing position C.
