Abstract:
An automatic computer controlled sheet material machine tool is disclosed, including a multi-tool punching machine and a right angle shear which are positioned closely adjacent one another and which are fed workpieces from a common worktable equipped with a computer controlled power workpiece movement gripper and carriage assembly, such that the workpiece is only gauged once and may thereafter be moved for precise controlled presentation to both the punch and the shear without the necessity of removing the workpiece from the table or regauging. Also shown is a system for automatically loading the workpiece and gauging initially under control of the computer and a system for automatically delivering completed workpieces and separation of scrap from the completed workpieces.
