Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform mechanical machining without deforming a tubular or a round rod-shaped workpiece by pressing.SOLUTION: A mechanical machining device has: a frame element; a mechanical machining unit; and a screw shaft. The screw shaft is rotatably attached to the frame element while being fixed in an axial direction, and has a first part equipped with a right-wound thread, and a second part equipped with a left-wound thread. The first part is equipped with at least one first supporting element, and the second part is equipped with at least one second supporting element. A distance between the supporting elements can be adjusted according to rotations of the screw shaft, so as to make the supporting elements, for example, wheels contact with a workpiece and support and guide the mechanical machining device during the mechanical machining of the workpiece. The supporting element, for example, at least one of the wheels, is configured so as to rotate about an axial line of the supporting element according to the movement of the mechanical machining device along a surface of the workpiece.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
