Abstract:
PURPOSE:To perform the chamfering on a rotation groove end part easily by forming a slit on the surface where a ball rotation groove is not formed on the end part of an orbit rail so as to perform, further, the machining to form rotation groove in the condition where the surface, on which a rotation groove is formed, are forced to deform eleastically in the outside direction by driving a wedge into this lit. CONSTITUTION:On both side faces 32 of a long rail 30 having a oblong-shaped sectional view, a ball rotation groove 34 is formed in the shaft direction. And then, on a surface where the rotation groove 34 of the rail 30 is not formed a slit 38, which is pierced through in the up and down direction, is formed. When a taper screw 40 is pushed into the slit 38, the slit 38 is expanded to deform the end part of the rotation groove 34 eleastically in the outside direction. When the rotation groove 34 is performed machining again to form the rotation groove in this condition and next the taper screw is removed, a smooth- inclined chamfered surface is formed at the end part of the rotation groove 34.
