This machining method using a machine tool is provided, where the machine tool is provided with a cylindrical guide member 44 into which the tool spindle 22 held by a main spindle head 20 is inserted, and sends the tool spindle 22 to the predetermined machining position of the workpiece 30 while guiding it by the guide member 44. The guide member 44 is rotatably supported on a guide support member 38, and is rotated in the same direction as that of the rotation of the tool spindle 22. More preferably, the guide member 44 is rotated at a speed nearly equal to the rotation speed of the tool spindle 22.
