A machining tool is provided with a cutting surface which is designed so as to implement projective machining width that is variable during machining, and has the cutting surface and a rear surface. The cutting surface has a first cutting edge and a second cutting edge both reaching the tip of the machining tool, and a cross section of the cutting surface in a direction orthogonal to a center line of the machining tool is formed into a recess defined by the first cutting edge and the second cutting edge. The rear surface forms a first acute angle with the cutting surface at the first cutting edge, and a second acute angle with the cutting surface at the second cutting edge, and therefore a cross section of the rear surface in a direction orthogonal to the center line of the machining tool is formed into a protrusion defined by the first cutting edge and the second cutting edge.
