To obtain a new compound having an excellent immunosuppressive activity and an excellent antifungal activity and useful as a medicine, especially an immunosuppressive agent, or the like, for improving symptoms such as rejection or autoimmune diseases especially at the time of organ transplantation.
This compound is represented by the formula. The compound represented by the formula is obtained by culturing a microorganism capable of producing the compound represented by the formula [preferably Streptomyces sp. SANK 66797 (FERM BP-6235)] preferably at pH 5.0-8.0 and preferably at 26-28°C according to an aerobic culture method such as a usually used aeration spinner culture method and then recovering the compound represented by the formula from the resultant cultured product by extraction, or the like, with acetone. The compound represented by the formula preferably has physicochemical properties such as a yellow powder and soluble in dimethyl sulfoxixe, methanol and ethanol and insoluble in water.
