NEW MATERIAL:A macrophage activating factor (MAF) acting to human and mouse macrophage, inducing an antitumor macrophage and having 1,400W2,100 mol.wt. under SDS-electrophoresis.
USE: An anticancer agent and cancer metastatis treating agent having high safety.
PREPARATION: For example, a human leukemic T cell is treated with a protein synthesis inhibitor, etc., and the treated cell is cell-fused with a human T cell stimulated with a mitogen, etc., in the presence of a fusion accelerator and only MAF-producing hybridoma is separated and the separated hybridoma is subjected to cloning to provide a MAF-producing T cell hybridoma, which is then cultivated in a culture medium and the supernatant of the culture is treated with a proteolytic enzyme and separated in the presence of urea by SDS-electrophoresis to afford the macrophage activating factor (MAF).
