To provide a cosmetic and a food which enable amelioration of blotches by the effect of a macrophage activator alone or the combined effect with a melanogenesis inhibitor by allowing macrophages to voracious eat the melanin fallen in the corium.
The cosmetic and food comprise a macrophage activator containing, as an active ingredient, a component selected from the group consisting of an extract of the dried root of Urtica dioica, an extract of the dried Matricaria chamomilla L., an extract of the dried leaf of Vitis vinifera L., an extract of the dried leaf of Camellia sinensis (L.) C. Kuntze, an extract of the dried leaf of Olea europaea L., an extract of dried Salix pururea, an extract of dried Melilotus officinalis(L.) PALL., an extract of the peel of Malus, reduced glutathione, flavone, and rutin, and a melanogenesis inhibitor. By the macrophage activator, macropharges voraciously eat the melanin fallen in the corium to enable amelioration of blotches, and the combined use of the cosmetic and the food further improves the effect.
