Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide coarse magnesium bis (dihydrogenorthophosphate) crystals and to provide an inexpensive production method therefor.
CONSTITUTION: An aq. phosphoric acid soln. is allowed to react with 8-11wt.% (expressed in terms of magnesium oxide) magnesium compd. in ≤0.95molar ratio of MgO to P2O5 in the presence of 0.05-2.0wt.% (expressed in terms of oxides) one or more kinds of alkaline earth metal compds. to produce magnesium bis (dihydrogenorthophosphate) crystals. By this method, coarse magnesium bis (dihydrogenothophosphate) crystals of ≥100μm average size can be industrially produced for the first time.
