Abstract:
To provide a magnesium wire which is flexible and easily bendable, yet resistant to bending.SOLUTION: A magnesium wire W according to the present invention is formed to a desired diameter by repeated drawing in a plurality of passes, wherein a relationship between a diameter d of the wire W and a diameter Di of an inscribed circle of a curved portion when bent without breaking in a plastic region satisfies Di/d≤10. Further, the magnesium wire W, when wound around a round shaft having a predetermined diameter Ds, is plastically deformed along the round shaft, and the wire, when released, only produces springback to an extent that a diameter difference Dr/Ds between a diameter Dr of a curved portion along the round shaft and the diameter of the round shaft is 1.3 or less in the diameter ratio Dr/Ds to the round shaft, so that it is easy to deform into a desired shape and maintain the shape.
