PURPOSE: To provide a magnetic agitating area development method which improves the flow characteristics of a developer by passing this developer through the nonmagnetic region of a developer housing.
CONSTITUTION: This magnetic agitating area development method includes the provision of the developing area existing between a transporting member having a rotary magnet 5 for transporting developer particles 8 which contain toners contg. resins, pigments, charge additive particles and surface additive particles and carriers contg. cores of soft ferrite or sponge iron, etc., subjected or not subjected to coating or subjected to partial coating and an image forming member 1. In this magnetic agitating area development method, the carriers have magnetic field magnetization of about <10emu/g and the developer 8 is transported to a photoconductive image forming member 1 by the transporting device. The toners adheres to the image on the image forming member 1, thereby giving rise to development.
