PURPOSE: To obtain the magnetic attachment for dental purposes which fixes artificial teeth into the oral cavity by utilizing a permanent magnet and the suction force of a keeper consisting of a soft magnetic material and which is small and light and has high suction force by magnetizing this permanent magnet to multiple poles.
CONSTITUTION: This magnetic attachment for dental purposes fixes the artificial teeth into the oral cavity by utilizing the permanent magnet 1 and the suction force of the keeper 4 consisting of the soft magnetic material. The permanent magnet 1 is magnetized to the multiple poles in such a case. For example, the circular cylindrical permanent magnet 1 is magnetized concentrically to two poles. The diameter Di in the boundary region of the bipole magnetization is set at a prescribed relation with the outside diameter Do of the permanent magnet 1 and the respective areas of the two magnetized regions 5a, 5b varying from each other are designed at the same area. The front surface of the permanent magnet 1 is covered with a yoke 2b consisting of a magnetic stainless steel having corrosion resistance and the remaining part with a cover 3a consisting of a nonmagnetic stainless steel. As a result, the suction force is improved about two-fold the suction force of the conventional attachments.
