This magnetic bearing control device comprises position measuring means 12a and 12b disposed so as to be opposed to each other so that the rotating shaft 4a of a rotating body is installed therebetween and a shaft position detection means 20 having a first calculation circuit 21A for providing a difference between measured values of the opposed position measuring means 12a and 12b. The shaft position detection means 20 detects the position of the rotating shaft 4a based on the calculated results of the first calculation circuit 21A. In addition, the control device comprises a second calculation circuit 21B for providing the sum of the measured values of the opposed position measuring means 12a and 12b and a switching means 22 for switching the contact of the calculation circuit in use between the first calculation circuit 21A side and the second calculation circuit 22B side according to an input S1 from the outside.
