To provide a magnetic bearing control system and a magnetic bearing control method which prevent sudden floating of a rotor by making the rotor float gradually from a state where the rotor is supported by an auxiliary bearing to a reference position when equipment of the rotor is floated.
The magnetic bearing control system includes: coils disposed above and below the rotor for magnetically floating the rotor to the reference position through power distribution; a position detector disposed above and below the rotor for detecting a rotor position; and a servo controller for giving current command to each of the coils based on a signal from the position detector. Moreover, the magnetic bearing control system, which controls power distribution to the coils by feedback of the rotor position from the position detector, includes the auxiliary bearing disposed above and below the rotor for supporting the rotor before the rotor is magnetically floated, and a control part for controlling the servo controller to make the rotor gradually float to the reference position between the auxiliary bearing when the rotor is magnetically floated.
