To relax an impact force applied to an auxiliary bearing at the time of touch-down by providing an urging means for applying a force in a predetermined direction to a rotating member when a power supply to a magnetic bearing device is shielded.
An energizing means realized by a permanent magnet 15 is disposed on a periphery of a rotating shaft 12 in a direction minimizing a force applied to the bearing at the time of touch-down that is, at a right upper position between electromagnets 13A, 13B. Thus, an electromagnetic force of the permanent magnet is only applied to a rotating shaft 12 by providing the permanent magnet 15 when a power supply to power lines 14A to 14H is cut by a service interruption. The permanent magnet 15 pulls the rotating shaft 12 rotating to a predetermined direction at which the permanent magnet 15 is disposed. As a result, an impact force applied to an auxiliary bearing at the time of touch-down can be relaxed.
