To provide a magnetic bearing device having simple and inexpensive construction accurately controlling a magnetic bearing without being influenced by the unbalance of thermal expansion and a leakage flux of an electromagnet while improving the long-time durability of a rolling bearing to a thrust load.
A force detecting sensor unit 18 consists of a pair of ring-shaped sensor targets 31, 32 sandwiching both end faces of an outer ring 16b of the rolling bearing 16, a pair of plate springs 33, 34 supporting the sensor targets 31, 32, and a gap sensor 35 for detecting a gap between the sensor targets 31, 32. A controller 19 has a correction amount computing means and an adding means. The correction amount computing means computes a correction amount corresponding to a current value detected by a current detecting means or a leakage flux detected by a leakage flux detecting means, and the adding means adds the correction amount to the output of the force detecting sensor unit.
