Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an evil influence caused by a conical or parallel motion of a rotor being apt to occur in the case of acceleration of the rotor.
SOLUTION: A three-axes control type magnetic bearing is provided with a radial position sensor 22 for detecting the radial position of a rotor 2 below its center of gravity in addition to a radial position sensor 8 arranged above the center of gravity of the rotor 2. A phase difference comparison circuit 24 computes the phase difference of a position signal detected by the radial position sensors 8, 22. A parallel mode compensating circuit 26 and a conical mode compensating circuit 28 are changed over and connected according to the value of the phase difference, and a compensating signal controls a radial electromagnet 4 through a current amplifier 12.
