Title:
MAGNETIC BEARING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3192207
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent bearing bodies made of superconductor from unfavorably being magnetized through the influence of magnetic field applying means when the bearing bodies are cooled from a normal conducting state to a superconducting state.
CONSTITUTION: During the cooling for transferring bearaing bodies 5 and 6 made of superconductor from a normal conducting state to a superconducting state, a supporting shaft 1 is axially moved by a shaft movement means 8, and the position of magnetic field applying means 2 and 3 made of permanent magnet opposed to the bearing bodies 5 and 6 is moved. Thus, the bearing bodies 5 and 6 are prevented from unfavorably being magnetized through a magnetization effect caused by the applied magnetic field during the cooling.
