Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the outflow of a defective magnetic card beforehand by providing an inspecting device with a function that detects the front and rear insertion of a magnetic card.
SOLUTION: Various patterns that show the front and rear of a card, such as a character an a design are printed on a magnetic card surface that is inspected. The magnetic card is sent to a card supplying part 1 which carries it with a lubber roller. Next, a laser scanner, etc., reads the patterns on the magnetic card surface, decides it as a good item if it coincides with a pattern that is previously stored in a monitoring sensor 2 and decides it as a defective if it differs from the stored pattern. A read result of the sensor 2 is sent as a signal to the next quality sorting mechanism and when the sensor 2 decides it as a defective, it is decided as a defective regardless of the result of the next card inspecting part 5. Next, the magnetic card is sent to the part 5 and it decides whether the card is normal or defective from the result of writing and reading data for inspection.
