Title:
MAGNETIC CARD READER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04123358
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obviate the disengagement of a card from a transporting path and to decrease erroneous reading of data by providing an angle on a roller relative to the transporting direction of the card.

CONSTITUTION: The roller 6 of the magnetic card reader 1 which transports the magnetic card 2 from the left to the right and stores the card in a stacking part 4 is mounted to incline from perpendicular with a traveling plane. Even if the card 2 is attempted to be transported along a card groove, there is the possibility that the card 2 is transported with the deviation in an upward direction according to the contact area of the roller 6 and the card 2 or the material quality of the roller 6 and the card 2 unless a member to cover the upper part of the card is installed on the magnetic card reader 1 side. The roller 6 is, thereupon, inclined in order to generate the force to hold down the card 2. The disengagement of the card from the groove is obviated in this way and the erroneous reading of the card is decreased.
