To provide a magnetic carrier for an electrophotographic developer, the carrier for appropriately keeping an electric resistance value during development, exhibiting excellent image quality and durability, reproducing a uniform solid black portion with high density, and to be used for an electrophotographic developer for maintaining images of high image quality for a long period of time with excellent gradation or the like, and to provide a two-component developer including the magnetic carrier for an electrophotographic developer and a toner.
The magnetic carrier for an electrophotographic developer includes spherical composite core particles having an average particle diameter of 1 to 100 μm and comprising at least ferromagnetic iron oxide fine particles and a cured phenolic resin, and a coating layer of a melamine resin formed on the surfaces of the core particles, is provided, wherein a ratio R100/R300, which is a ratio of an electric resistance value R100 at an application voltage of 100 V to an electric resistance value R300 at an application voltage of 300V, of the carrier ranges from 1 to 50.
