Abstract:

PURPOSE: To form a picture with low surface charge potential and developing bias voltage by incorporating a carrier grain having a specified diameter into the aggregated carrier grain.
CONSTITUTION: A small-diameter carrier grain is incorporated into the carrier grain constituting a magnetic carrier to conduct development under low charge and low electric field conditions. Consequently, the magnetic carrier as the aggregate of carrier grains contains ≥15wt.%, preferably 15-90wt.%, of the carrier grains having ≤35μm diameter. Meanwhile, the magnetic carrier preferably contains 15-50wt.% of the carrier grains having ≤25μm diameter or more preferably contains 15-30wt.% of the carrier grains having ≤20μm diameter. The average diameter of the carrier grains is appropriately controlled to 20-50μm or preferably controlled to 25-40μm.
