To provide a magnetic carrier not causing image defects such as voids, giving a high image density and excellent in dot reproducibility, to further provide a magnetic carrier free of peeling of a coating material from the carrier even in continuous paper transport at a low image ratio and ensuring small spent amounts of a toner and external additives in paper transport for images at a high image ratio, that is, capable of retaining the stable carrier surface over a prolonged period of time even to images which vary widely in image ratio, and to provide a two-component developer.
In the magnetic carrier in which at least carrier core particle surfaces are coated with a resin component, the resin component comprises at least a copolymer consisting of two or more (meth)acrylic ester monomers each having at least a perfluoroalkyl unit shown by formula (I).
