Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a uniform magnetic field and to reduce the insertion loss of a magnetostatic-wave element even when the magnetic field in the gap of a Hall piece is made wide by a method wherein a coil is wound on the outer circumference of the Hall piece.

CONSTITUTION: Hall pieces are formed to be protrusion-shaped at the upper part and the lower part in the central part of a square-shaped yoke; a coil is wound on the Hall piece at the lower side. The maximum diameter D1 of the Hall piece is set at 8 to 15mm; the distance (r) from the central part of a gap in the radial direction is set at 1 to 3mm; the diameter D2 of the Hall piece used to form a gap is set at 8mm≤D2≤D1. When D1, D2 and (r) are set, the relationship between the distance (r) and an intergap field intensity provides a uniform field intensity.
