Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a compact magnetic coupling durable to high thrust and torque, by providing ferromagnetic portions and non-magnetic portions in alternate positions in the facing sides of two members facing each other at a distance. CONSTITUTION:In an outer cylinder 2 coupled to a driving rotary shaft 1, small columnar permanent magnets 6 are fixedly embedded at regular intervals in the axial and circumferential directions in the wall of a circular pipe 6 made of synthetic resin which is a nonmagnetic material. In a core 4 coupled to a driven rotary shaft 3, small columnar permanent magnets 8 are fixedly embedded in the peripheral part of a columnar body 7 made of synthetic resin which is a nonmagnetic material. The magnets 8 are opposed to those 6 of the outer cylinder 2. The north and south poles of the magnets 6, 8 are located so that the opposed magnets 6, 8 attract each other and the polarity of the adjacent magnets 6, 8 is inversed.
