Abstract:
To provide a magnetic detection element capable of increasing magnetic resistance change rate (ΔR/R) and reducing a coupling magnetic field (Hin) to affect on a free magnetic layer.
The oxide layer 16 of CoFe is formed on the free magnetic layer 1, and a protection layer 18 is formed on the oxide layer 16. The protection layer 18 has a lamination structure with the oxide Ta layer 20 formed on an oxide Al layer 19. Accordingly, a specular effect is appropriately shown so as to properly raise the resistance change rate (ΔR/R), and to reduce the coupling magnetic field (Hin) to affect on the free magnetic layer 1. Consequently, a stable reproduction characteristic is obtained.
