Abstract:
PURPOSE: To increase an air flow generated on the surface of a magnetic record ing medium, to generate a large positive pressure from a magnetic head and to relax precision in machining and assembling components, by specifying the number of revolutions of the medium during a loading operation wherein the head approaches the medium and floats.
CONSTITUTION: While a magnetic disk apparatus is constructed as usual of an arm 1, a flexure 2, a ginbal 3, a magnetic head 4, a disk 5, a flexure pressing member 6, etc., the number of revolutions of a magnetic recording medium opposed to the head 4 is made larger than 2rpm during a loading operation of the head 4, when recording or reproduction is executed by using this apparatus. As is shown in the figure, in other words, the number of revolutions of the medium is so increased as to be Rev 1 larger than Rev 2 in recording or reproduction.
