Abstract:

PURPOSE: To surely remove interference between the codes of the read-out waveform from a disk and to equalize the waveform being optimal for Viterbi decoding.
CONSTITUTION: A prescribed isolated waveform is written in the predetermined area of every track of a disk medium 70 by the designation of a head number and a track number prior to the starting of use of a device in an isolated waveform writing part 100, next, the isolated waveform is read out by means of an isolated waveform reading part 102, quantized in an analog/digital converter 60 and the tap coefficient of a transversal filter 62 is calculated in a tap coefficient calculating part 104. The tap coefficient calculated in the tap coefficient calculating part 104 is stored in a memory 106 based on the track number and the head number used for writing the isolated waveform. At the time of reproduction during the use of the device, a tap coefficient setting part 110 reads out the corresponding tap coefficient from the memory 106 based on the track number and the head number designated by a seek command and set it in the transversal filter 62.
