To provide a magnetic disk device capable of surely and accurately holding a magnetic head in a prescribed stop position, and stably loading the magnetic head on a magnetic disk.

A lamp loading mechanism 25 is provided to support a magnetic head 40 in a position away from a magnetic disk 16 via a suspension 38 when a head actuator is moved to a stop position. The lamp loading mechanism is provided with a lamp 70 disposed in a disengaged state in the outside of the magnetic disk 16, and a tab 42 provided in the tip of a suspension. When the head actuator is moved to the stop position, plural tabs ride over the respective guiding surfaces 72a to 72f of the lamp 70, and falls into recesses 76 provided in the guiding surfaces. Only one recess 76 is formed nearly in a V shape, and the head actuator is positioned in the stop position.
