Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device obtaining information useful for analyzing a cause at a fault occurrence time.
SOLUTION: Since a host not shown in figure detects an executive state of a command by referring to a status register 121, though the host sends the command in the suitable timing at a normal operation time, when any fault occurs due to failure of software loaded on the host side, though the status register 121 is in a busy state, a succeeding command is supplied from the host, and is happened to be written in a command register 122. This magnetic disk device detects such a state, and records the detection result while incorporating it into command issue history information.
