A magnetic disk drive 30 connected to a magnetic disk processor 50 via SCSI buses 40-1 to 40-N is equipped with HDDs 20-1 to 20-N and reset control circuits 10-1 to 10-N connected between the HDDs and common SCSI buses 40-1 to 40-N. The reset control circuits 10-1 to 10-N are supplied with command data from a serial line 60 connected to the magnetic disk processor 50 and analyze the data to activate reset signals for the SCSI buses 40-1 to 40-N connecting the HDDs 20-1 to 20-N. The HDDs 20-1 to 20-N, having received the reset signals, causes reset conditions to be generated to stop the sequence.
