Abstract:

PURPOSE: To control the attenuation fatcor of magnetic eleastic wave electrically and at high speed.

CONSTITUTION: The attenuator is comprised of an amorphous magnetic wire 1, a coil 2 wound around a part of a propagation path for magnetic eleastic wave thereof, and a current generation circuit 10 for supplying a current to the coil 2. The current applied to the coil 2 is regulated so as to control a magnetic field applied to the wire 1 and change the attenuation constant. In addition, the amorphous magnetic wire is partly treated with heat treatment at least after it is formed by a spinning method in a rotating liquid.
