To form a dipole magnetic field capable of blocking high-energy electrons in response to the number of high-energy electrons peripheral to the artificial satellite at the given time without the intermediary of a ground station and another satellite that counts high-energy electrons.
The magnetic field generator comprises a magnetic field forming coil, a current control unit for controlling the current to be supplied to the coil, a magnetometer for measuring the geomagnetic field, an arm for holding the magnetometer, and a magnetic field data processor for predicting the number of high-energy electrons, based on the geomagnetic field as measured by the magnetometer for determining the value of the current to be supplied to the coil. The current control unit generates the current as determined by the magnetic field data processor.
