Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable this type of a magnetic sensor that makes a signal detection current flow through a film at a right angle with its surface to be improved in resolution when signals are reproduced and to provide a magnetic head provided with the above magnetic sensor and a magnetic recording reproducing device.
SOLUTION: A magnetic sensor is equipped with a board, a pair of a lower magnetic shield layer and an upper magnetic shield layer, a magnetoresistive effect device film disposed between the magnetic shield layers, electrode terminals for making a signal current flow through the magnetoresistive effect device at a right angle with its surface, and magnetic domain control films for restraining the Barkhausen noise of the magnetoresistive effect device film. The magnetic domain control films which are disposed, bearing against the lateral edges of the magnetoresistive effect device are formed of high-resistivity material having relative resistivity of 10 mΩcm or above, by which the magnetic field sensor excellent in reproduction resolution can be obtained, and a magnetic head and a magnetic recording reproducing device improved in reproduction resolution by utilizing the above magnetic field sensor can be provided.
