To provide a magnetic flux control type variable transformer with a simple structure, the transformer adjusting a load voltage at high speed and in a continuous manner by adjusting a control current while reducing a control loss.
Center legs of a pair of tripod magnetic cores are put together and wound by a primary winding and a secondary winding, each of the center legs of the pair of the tripod magnetic cores is further wound by an auxiliary winding, and each of outer legs of the tripod magnetic cores is wound by a control winding. The auxiliary winding connected in series to offset each induced voltage is connected to the primary winding or the secondary winding in series. The control winding wound around the outer legs of each tripod magnetic core is connected in series to offset the induced voltage, and connected to first and second control circuits, respectively. By carrying the control current from the first or second control circuit to the control winding and changing a value of a main magnetic flux of the pair of the tripod magnetic core, a voltage in the auxiliary winding is changed to control the load voltage.
