To avoid the absorption of lubricant on a magnetic head while leaving it for a long time after the device is stopped by the sticking of lubricant on the head by providing the lubricant absorbing layer to hold/absorb the lubricant at the portion in which lubricant is accumulated by the seek of the head.

In a suction type magnetic head 1, lubricant absorbing layers 2 are formed on the portion, which does not contact with the magnetic disk medium of the surface opposing to the medium, and the surface of a flowing out side. Epoxy resin, in which polyamide is added as a hardening material, is used as a thermosetting resin. The layers 2 formed as indicated above are hardened at the temperature which is higher than the optimum hardening temperature of conventional eposy resin. Therefore, a mesh shaped construction is easily formed and many minute cracks and bubbles are formed inside the resin. By the impregnating effect caused by the cracks and bubbles, the sticking/ accumlated lubricant is absorbed and held.
