PURPOSE: To manufacture a magnetic head having high reliability and with a high yield, by forming the SiO2 thin film on the butting face of the ferrite cores, providing the lead-group glass film on the SiO2 film and then butting two ferrite cores together to perform the bonding.
CONSTITUTION: The SiO2 is sputtered on the butting face of the I and C cores 1 and 2 each to form an SiO2 film 4 having a thickness of about 0.03μm or more. Then the film 3 for adhesion composed of the lead glass is provided on the film 4. And a butting is given between the cores 1 and 2 to be heated up to ≤800°C for the adhesive bonding, and then the glass is filled into the notch part 5 formed through the narrow-track working. Thus a magnetic head is obtained. In such method, the mutual diffusion can be prevented by the SiO2 film between the lead glass film and ferrite, thus realizing an easy and assured formation of the desired gap.
