Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic head supporting device capable of restraining a rotary center positional shift and the fluctuation of a spring constant caused by the miniaturization and thinning of the device. CONSTITUTION:A gimbal spring 20 is provided with a center square section 8 connected to an inner frame type section 13 surrounding it with a bridge shape conecting section 9 and further the inner frame type section 13 is connected to an outside holding section 12 surrounding this with a bridge shape connecting section 11 formed in a direction vartical to the bridge shape connection section 9. Of inner frame type sections 13a and 13b constituting sides orthogonally crossing the recording medium travelling direction of the inner frame type section, the inner frame type section 13a of an SPM side is formed shorter in length and smaller in width than the inner frame type section 13b of an opposite side. Further, the inner frame type section 13c of the SPM side parallel to the recording medium travelling direction is formed smaller in width than the inner frame type section 13b of an opposite side.
