PURPOSE: To improve the contact performance between a disk and the magnetic gap part of a magnetic head by using two slider surfaces set on the upstream side to suppress the fluttering of the disk.
CONSTITUTION: A magnetic head 1 touches the recording surface of a disk through three slider surfaces 2, 3 and 4. At the same time, the head 1 is supported by a spring member like a gimbal plate, a plate spring, etc., at the side of the bottom surface 7. As a result, the head 1 rubs the disk with the constant contact pressure. In such a case, the surface 4 having a read/write magnetic gap 6 is set approximately at the center between other surfaces 2 and 3 and at the same time at the downstream side in the disk flow-in direction X to both surfaces 2 and 3. Thus the fluttering, etc., of the disk can be suppressed by the surfaces 2 and 3 before reaching the surface 4 having the gap 6. As a result, the contact performance is improved between the head 1 and the disk at the magnetic gap part.
