To provide a magnetic object detecting device capable of being minimized without reducing the detection range.
The magnetic object detecting device comprises a magnetic field generating means for radiating an alternating field to a nearby space, one or more loop antennas for converting the magnetic field of the nearby space into an electrical signal, and a determining means for determining existence of the magnetic object by analyzing the existence of magnetostriction generated by the existence of the magnetic object in the nearby space based on the electrical signal of each loop antenna. The magnetic field generating means comprises one or a plurality of cylindrical permanent magnets of which side surface is magnetized, and a turning drive section for turning each permanent magnet.
